The Ultimate Uluwatu Wedding

With panoramic ocean views, embellishments of flowers ‘literally everywhere’, a dress which took no less than 9 months to handcraft and of course, Jimmy Choos, Jade Carrall’s day was that fairytale we all dream of having.  Keeping it intimate, her destination wedding of just 20 guests meant that her nearest and dearest could bond for the entire week of their stay. Her highlight? With so many magic moments, she found it hard to tell – everything from the moment she woke up until 4am when her head hit the pillow, was ‘absolutely amazing’.

Jade, just few questions! You looked absolutely stunning…. How, who and what?
Haha! My dress was a handmade, hand-beaded silk dress from India by Shannon Pittmann from Bo & Luca – I wanted it to be different. She designed my headpiece too. Earrings – Samantha Wills, and my shoes…. Jimmy Choo stilettos.. all the way from London!

And your body – teach us!
It was just yoga and pilates.. lots of it!

On the day, how did you prepare?
Well, from 10 days of soaking in the tropical sun beforehand, I was pretty tanned! My nails were French tipped – I wanted that natural look.

We are sure other brides-to-be would love to know the venue – that endless blue water is just spectacular.
Villa Jamadara at the Samara in Uluwatu – My mum had her wedding there a few years before!

We notice from the rose petal aisle to the finer touches on our chairs at your ceremony… Flowers were a huge part of the styling! What was the idea and who was your florist?
The supplier was WiB Flowers. We wanted flowers everywhere.. literally! In terms of colours, the concept was all-white everything, with a touch of green. We were so happy – they did an amazing job.

Did you have a specific theme?
Boho chic.. but we were fairly fluid.

What furniture pieces were particularly special for you?
We had a custom-made Javanese pagoda for an altar that was, by far, my favourite piece. We also had these amazing bulb lights above our long dining table – it looked so good lit up at night time.

Was it hard to have everything organised, especially since it was in Bali?
Well, I had an amazing wedding planner – Michelle at Global Weddings – who kept everything in check. To be honest, with a good planner like her, you don’t have to worry about anything.

Best part of your day?
All of it! I loved it all – from the local Balinese band who provided fun upbeat music, to having our dream reception spot of Villa Jamadara  – it was all incredible.

And finally… advice you’d give to others about to get married?
Just keep it real, do what you want, have fun with the day – it will be over before you know it.
